In Mark 5:21, Jesus came by boat to the other side of and a ruler of the Synagogue came to ask him go with him, to pray for his daughter to be healed. While Jesus was on the way, a woman with an issue of blood heard about him. She had suffered for twelve years and did not get any help from the Physicians after spending all that she mhad. She decided to press through the crowd in order to touch Jesus’s clothes, for she believed that she would be made well. “Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction” (Mark 5:29). We should continue to reach out and touch Jesus and he will meet our needs. Jesus felt power go out of his body and asked who had touched him.
He looked around and saw the woman and she came and fell down before him and told him the truth. The woman was in a state of despair and if we take a closer look at her condition, we can assume the following. There may have been a stench from her continued bleeding, which would have left her in discomfort and cause her to have a low self esteem among others. The understanding of her condition and circumstances, could mean that her friends and families would have left her feeling rejected. Having been to many Physicians, this would have caused her to lose trust in the system as they could not help her. She touched Jesus and was instantly healed. If there is anyone struggling with issues that they feel that they can’t tell anyone, Jesus can heal you.
If anyone has mental health issues, there is healing in the bible as the word is medicine. Jesus is the Prince of peace to heal the minds of children who are troubled. The woman realised that many people were being healed by Jesus and decided that she would also get her healing. As believers, we don’t have problems, we face problems and we resolve them through the word. Many things that are happening in the world today have been spoken about in the bible. The woman was healed because she was in desperation and had faith in the master. Virtue went out of Jesus and healed the woman as God healed her through his son. Faith is belief and confidence in God in the same way, that we have confidence in ourselves to do things.
Many people are troubled and have struggle to sleep at night, because they are crying silently. God commands us to cast our cares on him because he cares for us. We don’t have to chase after things, but pursue God and the things will come. There are people in church who are battling many issues and don’t know who to trust. You can share your burdens with Jesus because he already knows. God knows the steps that we take and he knows the number of hairs on our head. The best legacy that we can leave for our children, is to teach them about God. We are followers of Jesus, Ambassadors for Him and the righteousness of Christ Jesus. Everything that we do if for Jesus and him crucified.
The richest man that ever lived was King Solomon who got his riches from God. We are soldiers and soldiers know how to engage in battle and fight for God. We cannot let our gun (spiritual weapons) down. Growing up, there were not many Christian bookshops and all we had to rely on was the bible, which is God’s photo album and his mirror for us. We are in a spiritual battle and the world is in chaos. It is better to put our confidence in God, rather than to put out trust in man. We are untouchable and anytime the devil touches us, he touches God, because we are his ambassadors.
When I was younger, I was ill and I died, and a young woman was left to tend for me and when she came to give me food, she realised that I was unresponsive. She ran and called all of the elders and my grandfather and they came and called out to me. I remember leaving my body and I was travelling on a windy road and I was not sure where I was heading. God healed and restored me. Last week we spoke about the two major voices in the world. ‘A thought unspoken will die unborn.’ Words are powerful and three of the most powerful words in the world are I Love you. God has commanded us to love each other as we are created in his likeness and image. We existed long ago in heaven before we were released into the earth, in our mother’s womb.
